My favorite place for a walk with my dog is close to Český Krumlov. It is Hejdlov near to Červený dvůr. It takes 15 minutes by car from my house. You can park next to Červený dvůr castle.
Once you get out of the car you will get the dose smell of spring and you can hear beautiful birds song. On your road to Hejdlov, you can see grazing sheep’s and cows, huge trees and bushes, bubbling stream. The road leads you up a gentle hill. There is Hejdlovský pond and above it opens up view of peaceful valley. You can continue on the road to the forest. For me this is the hidden gem. It’s hard to meet a person there. Only diverse trees and bushes, narrow streams, various birds and many, many stunning views.
I planed the rout to South Africa in year 2022. We wanted see Cap Town, some safari and maybe vineyard and tipical local restaurant.
Came covid and was end of all.
In Jonkershoek, mist drifts like a living veil, mountains breathe in silence, and the land hums
with stories older than time. Here, even the wind feels enchanted.
This was taken near the starting point in the stunning Jonkershoek Nature Reserve. The wildlife has been untouched for millions of years. This protected area is full of native fynbos, much of which is found nowhere else in the world. Here we see a soft white soup slowly rolling over stunning, steep mountains, towering into the realm above the clouds, with a giant guarding a magic harp. These mountain ranges are shrouded in a misty haze through which a beautiful multicoloured rainbow shines, with one end reaching a leprechaun with a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow somewhere in the valley far away. It is no wonder, the area boasts the highest rainfall in the Western Cape. On the grassy meadow, a careful gaze might catch a honey badger moving quietly through the surroundings, as if woven from the very secrets of the land.
At the foot of rugged mountains lies a peaceful, green valley with a gravel route leading to a hidden gem – an unforgettable and magnificent view of the Stellenbosch Valley with fertile soil and many boutique vineyards with diverse and unexpected delicacies served with local Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinotage, Merlot, Shiraz wines while listening to jazz or the typical African coastline music called jive. On the beaches, where people for centuries stepped into shallow waters to search for closed shells with food hidden inside, they dug them out with their feet in the sand. From the rhythm of those steps a dance was born, still carrying the echo of the sea and of life – jive.
And in that stillness beneath the towering peaks, it feels as if the land itself is whispering stories older than time.
I decided to slightly expand the text in order to capture the atmosphere of the place more accurately.
Hello, my lovely place in nature is Vyšenske hills , kleť and anothers places around us. I spent time lots of time because is there is quite and peacefull.
My husband and I were on the holiday to Austria in this September. We sped 4 days at Nezidérské lake. There is very nice nature – maintained, cline beaches, but too untouched coastline with the dense reeds. All lake is circlet with bikeways. It is possible to take some boat or ferry. All our days were there very kind, and we enjoyed our holiday.
That sounds like a beautiful place Dana! The clean beaches and blue lakes circled with bike paths are some of my favourite things in Austria too.
In the picture we can see an amazing valley with steep mountains. There is a rainbow and a few clouds above the valley probably due to the weather conditions. The grass is green so there could be fertile soil suitable for vineyards, farming and growing various plants, and certainly also for cattle and horse breeding.
Great writing Irena!
