Hello, Alžběta, you have a varied career history. And your last position looks really interesting. You must have a good feeling about the job.
Can you describe a project for me? Specifically, what was it focused on?

Hi everybody, My name is Pavel Just and I am 36 years old. I live in Zlín all my life. I have studied English for 2 years so my english isn´t good. But I am trying to be better. Do you travel for work? Or just in your free time?
Hello František, yes beautiful dog. white shapperd is bigger dog and she needs a lot of time with people. white shapperd is not germen shapperd so white is friend for family. it is important for them. I did not understand. Nothing. So i am looking for some way(option) for me.

Hi Andy! I have also three children. Two boys and girl. What are your children’s names? (😅) Is it easier to have three girls? What do you think?
Hello everybody, first to say: nice to meet you all. My name is Tadeáš and I am 21 years old. I am currently studying a law school in fifth semestr. My english is bad in my opinion so that’s the reason why I’m here with you. I need to improve english because of my future career. I live in small village near Prague. My hobby is sport and reading books. I am looking forward to work with you so much. Btw. happy new year!
Hello Tadeas, nice to meet you. I wish I had that kind of drive when I was your age and didn’t have to catch up on English later now.
Hi Tadeas, happy new year to you too. My english is also very bad, so i fully understand you. I am a little bit older than you, but we have the same task 👍
Hi, I´m Pavel and I ´m 46. I live in a small town Mirošov. Mirošov is located near Rokycany. Our town is realy small, it´s like a bigger village with a small infrastructure. For many things is better go to Rokycany, where is a lot of supermarkets, swimming pool, ice hockey stadium and once a week is possible to go for free ice skating. Of course is not for a free, it´s just called that (the stadium is available for public skating). A small fee is required. But it´s often overcrowded. I have been working in my last building company for 5 years as a budget manager. But I´m not a manager in our sense of word, so I work with prices in a budgets. I think, then in english are a lot of jof positions as a “manager”.
I like playing badminton, climbing, treking, MTB and archery. I´m a coach of badminton and archery in our 2 clubs. I like travelling at all and this is the reason, why I´d like to speak more fluently. So for me is the most important understanding the other side than perfect grammar. I gonna go to Canada next year with my friends and I wanna (or better I would like) talk with native speakers and understand them. I know I make many mistakes in grammar, but as I said – for me is much more importatnt speaking and undestanding between me and other side than perfect grammar.
Hi, Pavel,
nice to meet you. I visited the outdoor pool in Rokycany once. Nice place.
What kind of climbing do you like best? And in what locations?
Hi František,
I like climbing in a big mountains, of course the nearest are the Alps. But I prefer the difficulty up to III. UIAA. So it is often the alpine hiking but with all necesary equipments as ice axe, rope and crampons. The move on the gletscher without this equipment is live risky. And when I was younger, I climbed both highest peak in Amerika (North – Denali and South – Aconcagua) and in Pamir two 7000+ peaks. But my dream is the Ama Dablam and next Everest in the Himalayas. The biggest problem is the price. I have been four times to this area as guide for travel agency with treking groups, so I know the acces to BC very well. The big upside (advantage) is that both peaks are in the same area, so it is good idea first climb to Ama Dablam for acclimatization and than to the Everest but both are very expensive. I think, the most impressive mountains are the Cordilleras in South Amerika, they are often 6000+ and relatively well accesible and much more cheaper than 8000+ in the Himalayas or Karakoram.
I didn’t expect that. Cool.
I’ll be happy with 3000+ 🙂
Hello everyone,
my name is Irena. I have lived in a small town Nelahozeves for twenty-one years. I have two children. The daughter is eighteen years old and the son is twelve.
I work as an accountant in an e-shop. We sell tools for home and garden. I love my job, but the only thing that bothers me is I don’t use English there. It is a shame, because I love the English language and I have studying at home for fifteen years. I read English books, watch English series, or listen to English podcasts. But different practices missing me. English is not my liking. My dream is to speak English very well. Clear and fluent with good pronunciation.
Have nice day
Irena
Hello, Irena. Nice to meet you. Your English is good. Unfortunately, I don’t have that kind of endurance. But I’ve been with Jazyko the longest so far 🙂
Will you use English on vacation?
Hello František
Nice to meet you too. I’ve been trying to learn English for many years. I love training my brain. I like reading, writing, and watching English movies. This up is great because here is everything that I need.
I’m trying to use English on vacation, but my problem is speaking. My pronunciation isn’t good and I’m very nervous.
And what about you? What is your motivation for learning English?
Don’t worry about the pronunciation. According to Soňa, our Czech accent is good because many other nationalities understand it. I travel quite a bit and the main thing is to understand. The other side usually doesn’t have a great accent, grammar or vocabulary either.

Hi, my name is Josef but my friends call me Pepo. Even if I was born in Prague in the deep socialism I am living in Zilina, Slovakia, for many years, or now in small village near Zilina. It is not my first course here in Jazyko but it doesn’t matter. My working language is English that’s why I am trying to improve my English level. It is like challenge to go through the lections and it is also funny because it is not so boring like the old language school a lot of years ago.
Hi Pepo, it is lovely to see you here. Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate your positive feedback and I am happy you are enjoying this form of studying.
Watch out for the following:
Even if = i kdyby X even though = přesto, že/ačkoliv
I am living = pobývám (přechodně) X I live = bydlím
lesson = lekce
it is funny = je to legrační x it is fun = je to zábava
Thank you for corrections Sona.
have a nice day.

Hi everybody,
my name is Lukas, I’m forty, happily married and I have 2 beautiful daughters (and we are expecting a third :).
I spent the last 16 years in Globus. I worked there in several positions but unfortunately, I had to go.
Now I work as a production assistant for Stillking company. What a job! I’m so excited to work there.
I live in Škvorec, a small village near Prague. I always wanted to raise my kid in the countryside.
If you want to know more about me or my family, don’t hesitate to contact me 🙂
Have a great day all.
Lukas
Hi Lukas, nice to meet you and welcome in the course. Congrats on your third baby and your new job. That sounds wonderful. What do you do as a production assistant?
Hi Sona,
now I’m responsible for Covid testing and our production application called Badger.
Because American productions still want to test people for Covid, somebody has to organize it. Create events, find an ambulance and testing points in Prague and nearby,
negotiate terms with suppliers, etc.
And I also take care of our wonderful app Badger.
Badger helps us organize everything around Covid and it has a lot of useful functions. Directory (you can contact anyone from the crew), project schedule (you can see when and where we will be tomorrow or next week, you can use the navigation to the specific points).
People here are so nice but I’m staying a bit beside because I’m not a fluent speaker. But I have been trying to change it for 18 months and I’m still looking for another opportunity to be a better and more fluent speaker.
Best
L.
Interesting job, Lukas. I will do my best to help you become self-confident and fluent speaker so that you don’t have to stand aside. The main trick is to take small steps and get out of your comfort zone, but also to accept that making mistakes and asking 5 times for explanation is OK. I hope I will see you in one of our group or individual conversations soon.
Hi everyone! I’m Alex and I’m almost 49. I came here from Poland and I live in Plzen one of the most gorgeous cities in the Czech republic (in my opinion). I’ve been living in Czech for 17 years and I need to say moving to the Czech republic it was one of the best decision in my life.I work as a sales represantive for one polish company at the Czech market. Looking forward to getting to know you.
See you soon.
Hello Aleksander! Welcome in the course. I am looking forward to helping you get your English to another level. What do you like about Plzeň so much? Do you think the living conditions are better in Plzeň than in Prague or Brno? And whereabout from Poland are you?
Hello Sona! Pleased to meet you. Plzen reminds me Kraków there I leaved for 6 years – secondary and high school (unfortunately not finidhed). Are there better conditions in Prague or Brno? I don’t know, but I think these are too big cities for me. I come from Sosnowiec – it’s near to Katowice. In polish conditions medium cities – about 200 thousand citizens. It’s also not far from the Czech borders – about 100 km.
I like Plzeň, too. I also think it is better to live in a medium sized city and, by the way, I love Krakow. Enjoy the course as much as living in Plzeň, Alexander.

This year I have red four books of Harry Potter (excellent because I have never seen the movies and I have never red books in Czech). I have understood around fifty percent (at first books more at last book less). I like gardening and I walk my dog every day (sometimes twice). I look forward to a new English courses.

Hello! My name is Šárka. I´m from Mělník near Prague. I am fifty-six years old, but I still feel young :-). The age is only a number. I have three adult children and two grandchildren. I´v been happily married for almost thirty-five years. I love our family. We help each other. That is the way I like it.
I like reading. I´m reading books in English the last year. I love Agatha Christie and I like reading her books. I quiet understand and I like it very much. I´ve already study English for a long time but I stil canť speak in English at all. I know English only in a pasive way. I´m shy and almost afraid of talking even to my daugther (by the way she speak English very well, she worked abroad and studied there, too, so she has her English in level C1). The last year I finely got better in English a little thanks to webside English Hacker Premium by Markéta Růžičková. I´m very proud of myself but I feel I need some change for a while. So I decided to try your course. It seems great to me and I’ll probably buy it.
What else about me? I like walking, especially nordic walking. I walk every day. I love nature and I try to be there as much as posible. But I live in the city, so it is sometimes rather difficult.
Thank you for your work.
Hello Šárka, welcome in the course. I am really happy you like my courses (I am really proud of them 🙂 :)) Your English is excellent and I will be happy to help you activate everything you know. BTW I have three kids and two grandchildren too, and I totally agree that age is only an unimportant number 🙂
Watch out for the following:
I have been reading English books over the past year.
quiet = tichý x quite = docela
I have been studying English for a long time
speak English NOT speak in English
I’m afraid to talk NOT afraid of talking BUT you can be afraid of dogs/spiders/snakes etc.

Hello. My name is Laďka. I´m 38 years old. I live in Prague, alternately in Třebíč and České Budějovice where my partner lives. My hobbies are playing the quitar and piano, singing and sailing. We have sail boat on dam Orlík and motor boat on Vltava river. Summer in connection with water and nature is wonderful in the Czech republic. There is nice nature and wonderful cycling tips in České Budějovice. I say hello to everybody and wish to all of us good luck with studying of english 🙂
Hello Laďka,
nice to meet you. It sounds like you like to spend your free time being active.
I always found the sailboat interesting. It must be difficult/complicated to drive. Setting sails etc. Do you prefer a sailboat or a motorboat?
Ahoj Františku,
nice to meet you too. Yeees, I like spending free time on our boats. It is hard to say what type of boat is better. Both of them. Each boat has its own characteristic. Sailing is wonderful. Wind in your hair and the silent, no engine when you sailing – cheaper. On the other hand motorboat is huge and faster, there is corveta engine – the boat ride is more expensive. The most difficult (for me) is anchoring. This is the place for my partner. And it is safer for our boats 😀 I dont want to scratch the boat. 🙂 Have a nice day. L.

All excercises and mainly all listenings were for me too difficult! I was not able them to make!
I am sure, that my knowledges are A2.
When I wrote the test, it was between A2 and B1.
Please, would it be possible to start A2 instead of B1.
If it is not possible, thank you for all and I wish you all good.
Marie Trtílková
Hello Maria, no problem. I will call you tomorrow and tell you how to switch to A2. What time shall I call? Is it better in the morning or in the evening?
Hello Soňa,
could you please call in the evening? If would it be possible, around 6 p.m..
Thank you.
Marie
